The medical practice at Atholl Medical Centre is the sole medical practice in the Pitlochry district and covers an area of approximately 700 square miles of North West Perthshire. The practice has its main premises at Ferry Road, Pitlochry but also has a branch surgery at Ford Road, Blair Atholl. The nearest District General Hospital is Perth Royal Infirmary.

The doctors are responsible for providing community medical facilities, including the care of the patients in the Pitlochry Community Hospital, servicing the medical needs of our many visitors and working closely with the statutory emergency services. Alternatively, you can visit our registration page and download and print the relevant documents.

You can then arrange for a consultation with the practice nurse to record your medical details. The practice would like to thank the various advertisers who have helped to produce this Website. However, it must be pointed out that the accuracy of any statements cannot be warranted, nor any products or services advertised, be guaranteed or endorsed.
Services
Our administration team - Irene, Mairi, Rhona, Mackenzie, Gayle, Kirsty, Joanne, Julia & Jane along with our Practice Manager are here to keep the practice running smoothly, helping the doctors and patients in the most appropriate way.
Atholl Medical Centre employs Julia Connor as Nurse Practitioner and a recent addition of Trish Sanders.
Julia & Trish triage and see patients in the surgery every day.
When phoning for an appointment, you will be put into the triage system and Julia or Trish will phone you back and either give advice, arrange an appointment with themselves or allocate you an appointment with a GP.
The immunisation team carries out childhood immunisations.
Other immunisations are carried out during normal consulting.
We offer a range of general and foreign travel immunisations by appointment with the doctor or the practice nurse.
If you are unsure, please check with reception, your doctor or the practice nurse.
Detailed requirements for travel immunisations can also be seen at www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk.
Child health surveillance checks are arranged for all children registered with this practice and are performed by Dr Harvey.
After 31 years service in Pitlochry, Dr Leaver is due to retire at the end of September this year.
He will be greatly missed by colleagues and staff as well as members of the community and we wish him well in his retirement.
This opens up an exciting opportunity for a new GP colleague to join our enthusiastic and committed multidisciplinary team in beautiful Pitlochry, Perthshire.
Whenever possible we hold an emergency clinic in the afternoons to deal with problems that require immediate medical attention and which cannot wait for a normal appointment on another day.
This is an additional surgery and therefore we cannot guarantee which doctor you will see or give a specific appointment time.
We cannot guarantee these clinics will be held every day, as it does depend on the number of doctors there are on duty.
These appointments are not for repeat prescriptions, results or routine matters.
Telephone advice appointments are available at various times throughout the day.
If you feel that you may not need to see a doctor but would like some advice, please ask the reception staff for a telephone advice appointment (if you feel this would be helpful).
Telephone advice appointments are often requested by the GPs for patients to speak about test results, they are often routine and can be booked up to 3/4 weeks in advance.
