In line with current Government guidance patients are required to continue to wear a face covering in all healthcare settings. Face coverings primarily protect others, so doing so - unless exempt - is key to preventing spread of infection. We also ask that you continue to respect 2m social distancing rules and sanitise your hands upon entry and when required whilst in healthcare settings.

The practice is committed to delivering a service of the highest standard to all of our patients. We place a great deal of emphasis on good communication, effective treatments and continuous professional development to enable us to meet the needs of our patients. The practice has been in existence for over 100 years and was carried out from three surgeries in Hemsworth.

The practice buildings were wooden huts until 1967 when a purpose-built surgery was built in Highfield Road, Hemsworth. We soon outgrew this building and moved to our current site in 1979. The surgery was extended in 1993 to provide additional patient care facilities, a larger waiting room and increased office space.
Services
Our telephone lines are open Monday to Friday from 8am until 6pm.
We have clinics available at the following times, including some extended, out-of-hours sessions (early mornings from 7.30am and late evenings up to 8pm) which may be particularly helpful for patients who work during the day.
To book appointments please telephone or visit the surgery between 8am and 6pm; appointments are also available to book online 24 hours a day.
Please note the times below are the surgery opening times, the 'phone lines open at all sites, on all days, from 8.00am.
The GPs practise together in a non-limited partnership.
Dr Kamal is the senior partner and has a special interest in diabetes and dermatology.
Dr Johnston is our lead GP for Clinical Governance and has a special interest in diabetes.
Dr Herrero Tarilonte is our lead GP for prescribing, and has a special interest in cryotherapy and acupuncture.
Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) - these are experienced nurses who are trained to Masters Degree level who act as independent practitioners and are able to prescribe.
The following is a guide to the many services that we provide for our patients.
Most clinics are by appointment only.
Please ask at reception for details of clinic times and appointment bookings, as times may vary.
All women and people with a cervix between the ages of 25 and 64 should attend for regular cervical screening.
You'll get a letter in the post inviting you to make an appointment.
If you missed your last cervical screening test then you do not need to wait for a letter to book an appointment.
Parking at all of our sites is extremely limited and is fast becoming a safety concern.
With a view to allowing as much access as possible for disabled patients or patients less able to walk, please consider parking nearby if you are able and walk to the surgery.
Particularly at the Hemsworth site, there is plenty of free parking nearby near Iceland, B&M and Tesco's for example.
Thank you for your co-operation and understanding.
As a surgery we are committed to providing the best care for our patients and this includes making information accessible under the Accessible Information Standard.
All organisations that provide NHS or adult social care must follow the Accessible Information Standard by law.
The Accessible Information Standard aims to make sure that disabled people have access to information that they can understand and any communication support they might need.
