Services
Batheaston Medical Centre has been providing quality family medicine to Batheaston and surrounding villages since 1950.
We work out of purpose built premises with a stable and happy primary healthcare team.
We pride ourselves on providing good access to services and recognise that reliable access to a regular clinician is a marker of quality.
We score highly in other markers of quality too, and have consistently scored top marks in the Government's QUOF programme for assessing the achievements in chronic disease management.
We are asking you to contact us by telephone and not to come to the Practice unless you have been specifically invited.
Most of our GP consultations are being undertaken by telephone and we can use a secure video connection if we need to see something or may invite you up.
Please be aware that the receptionist cannot give you a precise time but you will be contacted if you make an appointment.
If you have any health questions we are still here to help you.
Who to see: GP Advice: Please contact reception on 01225 858128 in the usual way to make an appointment.
You may apply in writing (preferably using the computer printed counterfoil) or online.
If you, or someone you care for, uses the same medicines regularly you may be able to benefit from using the NHS Electronic Repeat Dispensing (eRD) service.
Using this means you won't have to re-order or collect a repeat prescription from the Practice every time you need more medicine.
Should you wish your prescription to be posted to you, please enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope.
There is always a pharmacy open in Bath on Sundays and Bank Holidays; usually 11:00 - 12:00 and 18:00 - 19:00.
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 15 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).
The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.
Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
Parents, carers and healthcare professionals can access expert advice about common childhood illnesses and how to treat them via a mobile app, called HANDi App.
It is free and can be downloaded to any Apple or Android smartphone or tablet.
Developed and approved by Paediatric Consultants here at the RUH, the HANDi App provides expert advice on how best to manage the six most common childhood illnesses; diarrhoea and vomiting, high temperature, chestiness, newborn problems and stomach pain.
The HANDi App aims to give parents and carers more confidence in dealing with minor conditions at home.
