If you are due a test, or think you may need one, please continue to request one. Your GP will decide if you need one now, or if it can be delayed until the shortage is resolved. Welcome to Jessop Medical Practice, named after William Jessop, a famous local engineer and founder of the Butterley Company whose memorial is a well known local landmark.

Our aim is to provide friendly, personal and effective health care. We endeavour to treat all our patients fairly to meet their needs in an appropriate way and as promptly as possible. Our staff should treat everyone courteously and we would ask that patients help us by being polite when they contact us at the surgery. Please contact us using this wherever possible as it helps us provide a responsive service to everyone.

You can access it via our website, or via the NHS App on your phone. It is easy and safe. It can also direct the you to self-help, pharmacy advice and local self-referral services. Our reception team may ask you for more details than usual.
Services
Caring responsibilities can make it difficult to maintain friendships or develop new ones.
Telling your friends you're a carer is important so they understand and can support you.
Caring for someone can be a full-time job, but it's essential that you take time out for yourself too.
Read our guide to accessing breaks and respite.
Help claiming benefits, looking after your bank balance and understanding the legal issues of caring.
Both our surgeries have ground-floor access for the disabled and staff will be happy to give assistance if needed.
Please let us know if you have hearing difficulties and require more help because of this.
There is a loop system on the reception desk for the benefit of hearing aid users and an aid for hearing can be provided for use when being seen by a doctor or nurse.
Our two NPs are also able to treat patients who are above the age of 1 with a range of acute minor illnesses and musculoskeletal related concerns.
They have undertaken advanced training which allows them to assess, diagnose, prescribe, investigate or refer when required.
They do not routinely deal with chronic ongoing issues or pregnancy related concerns.
To enable us to manage the care of our 17,000 patients safely, we need your help.
From Wednesday 10/06/2020 we will be using online consultations (known as eConsult) as the main way of accessing our services.
We experience a high volume of phone calls on a daily basis and we appreciate that this can make it difficult for many of you to get through.
This service is available 24/7 so you can submit your request at a day or time that suits you rather than waiting for our phone lines to open.
It has safety mechanisms built in so that if your answers suggest a more serious or life threatening problem you will be advised on how to seek urgent help.
Tired of waiting in a phone queue for an appointment, then eConsult could be the way forward for you.
This will allow patients to access help or advice from a GP online and get a response back by the end of the next working day.
Patients will have the option to seek general advice or help for a specific condition or an administrative request such as requesting a fit note.
Patients will be able to access self-help information, access local services, get pharmacy advice or get advice from their GP.
