For many years the practice has worked from two different buildings separated by the town centre. Our well-appointed building and state-of-the-art facilities greatly help us to provide top quality modern medical care. There is good access for pedestrians and cyclists alike; there are excellent cycle paths to the surgery and a footpath along the canal.
There is ample car parking space available. The surgery is fully accessible for wheelchairs and disabled toilet facilities are available. This website has been designed to tell you about the practice and the services that we offer. Please read it carefully. We trust that you will find it helpful and informative. Please be aware that this email is not for urgent enquires and must only be used for information.
Please book appointments in the usual way by telephoning 01823 282151.

Services
The GP's offer telephone consultations, which are bookable in the same way a face to face appointment is.
Each GP has a limited number of slots that can be booked in advance, for morning and afternoon.
These are usually about four weeks ahead and can be booked as follow ups for routine reviews.
We also open a bundle of slots every morning which are bookable on the day for routine problems appointments.
On booking an appointment the reception team will ask you the nature of your call to ensure you are booked with the most appropriate clinician.

This is a new initiative across Somerset whereby patients can make appointments at extended times (up until 8pm at night Monday-Friday and on Saturday mornings) at other practices across the local area.
Practices working together to deliver extended access to appointments are listed on the poster below.
Appointment types will vary, some being face to face and some on the 'phone and there will be a mixture of pre-bookable and same day appointments available across the week.
They may be with a doctor but could also be with another healthcare professional such as a primary care practitioner or a nurse.

Our new online consultation system gives you 24 hour access to a wealth of health advice, self-care tips and information.
You can submit request forms directly to us for review if you need further guidance.
Please be aware, this can take up to 48 hours for a response and the system is for routine queries only.

An out of hours medical service is available when the surgery is closed, 6:30pm - 08:00am.
This service is for medical emergencies only.
If you become unwell after the surgery is closed please contact the surgery on 01823 282151 and there will be an answerphone message explaining what you should do.
Please remember that it is not appropriate to attend the A and E department unless your problem fits the A or the E definition.
We sometimes find that patients use the department as a "Walk In" minor illness unit, which puts their staff under unnecessary pressure.

We understand as a parent/guardian how stressful it can be looking for help for your child's behavioral and mental health and we want to ensure your child accesses the right help in the best way.
Please read the behavioral leaflet put together by the doctors at the surgery which contains lots of advice and access to the most appropriate service.
Once you have read the above leaflet and if you still feel like GP help is required, please book a routine appointent with your child's usual doctor.
