Welcome to Oswald Medical Centre, providing primary care for Accrington and surrounding areas. We hope you take your time to browse our website where you will find lots of useful information about the surgery and the services we offer. Our Practice is spread over 3 separate sites and patients can access services from any site depending on their needs.

How likely are you to recommend our GP practice to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment? Our new Accrington Branch is now open. Total triage still applies but you can pop in to drop off prescription requests or if you have a confirmed appointment.
Services
Many patients find that having access to online services helps provide a quick and convenient way of managing their healthcare.
As a practice we encourage all suitable patients to make full use of the apps where possible rather than telephoning the surgery to help keep our lines free for those who need to speak with us urgently.
Manage the way we share your information with other NHS organisations - National Data Opt Out.
It's important that patients bear a few things in mind when accessing online services.
Triage is a term used to describe how Primary Care Services have been mandated to operate on a national basis.
Use our smart telephone system to cancel appointments if they are no longer needed (all you need is a telephone with a key pad - this includes home landline telephones).
Almost all appointments with the Healthcare Assistants and Nurses are face to face (the exception is a telephone follow up where the nurses wishes to speak with you following your review, test or other procedure).
Some patients are given automatic face to face appointments with the GP / ANP at the point of speaking with our Care Navigators.
In addition to the Senior Business Manager Rita Naylor and Practice Manager Stephanie Driver, the practice has a full complement of practice staff that may be able to help you with any non- medical aspects of your health and treatment.
Please help us to give a better service.
Any constructive criticism or complaints you may have about the running of the practice should be addressed initially to the Receptionist on Duty who will assist you.
If you feel you need to speak with the Practice Manager you may do so and a convenient date and time will be arranged for you.
We have 5 GPs who work permanently at the practice and we also emply a range of Locum GPs to help out during busy times.
Our GP team is supported by 3 highly skilled Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs).
ANPs are nurses who have undergone extensive additional training, development and gained hands on experience to enable them to diagnose, treat and prescribe for a range of conditions.
When booking appointments for any acute or new problems, you will be offered an a appointment with either a GP or ANP as both roles are skilled in seeing patients with an undifferentiated diagnosis.
Jemma is a First Contact Physiotherapist (FCP) with 14 years' experience working with MSK conditions, sports injuries and pain related problems.
She is a caring and compassionate clinician who always gives her time to patients to listen to problems and help with all aspects of health and care management.
Her experience spans across various fields including private practice, sports medicine and has been lucky to travel with her work all over the world.
Our new Accrington Branch is now open.
Total triage still applies but you can pop in to drop off prescription requests or if you have a confirmed appointment.
