Over Wyre Medical Centre
Doctors have been practising in the Over Wyre area since the turn of the 20th century, in Stalmine, Hambleton and Pilling. We are extremely proud of our superb medical centre and feel that it offers an attractive environment for both patients and staff. It is our intention to continue to expand and improve our services and facilities for the benefit of our patients and to continue the long established tradition of community care in this area.

NHS patients, staff and visitors must continue to wear face coverings in healthcare settings. How likely are you to recommend our GP practice to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?
Services
Situated within the village of Preesall, we provide a wide range of medical services for local people, from one-off problems to longer-term illnesses.
The practice is a member of NHS Fylde and Wyre Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), the organisation responsible for buying high quality, safe and effective health services to meet the needs of local people.
We are also registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) under the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
The CQC regularly inspects the practice to ensure that we are meeting national standards of quality and safety.
Everyone who is cared for by the NHS in England has formal rights to make choices about the service they receive.
These include the right to choose a GP surgery, to state which GP you'd like to see, to choose which hospital you're treated at, and to receive information to support your choices.
NHS Fylde and Wyre Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has published a guide to help patients make choices about their NHS care.
This follows a survey earlier in the year which showed that nine out of 10 local people would like to be able to choose their GP practice.
The practice employs a nurse practitioner who is able to consult and prescribe independently for most urgent conditions such as chest infections, coughs, colds, sore throats, insect bites, diarrhoea/vomiting, urine infections, hayfever etc. and is available, by appointment, both morning and afternoon.
Our highly trained team of nurses hold regular weekly clinics for diabetes, coronary heart disease, asthma, hypertension and COPD.
These clinics are for newly diagnosed patients and also for ongoing annual checks.
During the hours when the surgery is closed and when it is a non-emergency situation, please telephone 111.
This will connect you to the national NHS 111 service, who will assess your condition and direct you to the local service best suited to your needs.
For any serious life-threatening emergencies, such as chest pain or shortness of breath, always call 999.
Please do let us know if you have any comments, suggestions or complaints about the service you have received.
We operate a practice complaints procedure that meets national criteria and ensures your views are recorded and, where appropriate, acted upon.
If you would like to make a complaint, please contact either John MacPhee (practice manager) or one of the doctors as soon as possible, or ask for a complaints form at reception.
All other comments, views or suggestions are always welcome and help us to continue providing a high-quality service to all our patients.
