Practices across the UK have been informed that flu vaccine deliveries from the supplier Seqirus are going to be delayed by at least one. A full course is currently two doses of any approved vaccine. At Haden Vale Medical Practice, we will continue to wear protective face coverings and still observe social distancing. In return we advise that a protective face covering is still expected to be worn by all before entering the surgery foyer and whilst in the building.

Anyone that is exempt will be encouraged to wait outside the building or stay in the car until their appointment time. Thank you for your co-operation in keeping us all safe. Our practice is inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to ensure we are meeting essential standards of quality and safety. If you have an urgent problem when the surgery is closed, please ring NHS 111 your call will be answered by one of the out of hours team.

At any other time use our Emergency Telephone line as mentioned above and follow the instructions given on the answer machine.
Practices are working in partnership to provide additional GP appointments between 6.30pm - 8pm during the week and also over the weekend, If you need access to an evening or weekend non-urgent appointment, please call and speak to the receptionist at your registered practice during normal opening hours.
Patient Participation Group (PPG) is made of practice staff and patients that are representative of the practice population.
The main aim of the PPG is to ensure that patients are involved in decisions about the range and quality of services provided and commissioned by the practice.
Using the PPG, we aim to promote the proactive engagement of patients and to seek views from our patients through the use of practice surveys, comments or suggestions and complaints.
The Doctors and all staff at Haden Vale Medical Practice Strive to offer the best service possible, in order to help us attain high standards of patient care and support.
Care professionals in England use an electronic record called the Summary Care Record (SCR).
If you are registered with a GP practice in England, you will already have an SCR unless you have previously chosen not to have one.
It also includes your name, address, date of birth and unique NHS Number which helps to identify you correctly.
You can now choose to include more information in your SCR, such as significant medical history (past and present), information about management of long term conditions, immunisations and patient preferences such as end of life care information, particular care needs and communication preferences.
As a teaching practice, medical students spend part of their training with us from the University of Birmingham Medical School.
The practice is also involved with medical research in partnership with the University of Birmingham.
We would value your co-operation with both of these, but we understand if you do not want to be involved.

The Practice operates a full appointment system to see our Doctors and Nurses.
Patients requiring an appointment should ring the main surgery number on Tel: 01384 634 511.
A number of appointments are available on the day for emergencies only.
You will asked a brief reason for the emergency, and the clincian for that day will triage, and call you back.
These appointments are NOT for repeat prescriptions or repeat sick notes.
