Services
The council's Public Health teams have been made aware of conflicting advice been given out to the public, and how long households should isolate.
We know it is complex and there are always exceptions to the rule.
However we have been asked by public health to share the guidance again across Health and Care.
If someone gets symptoms you must self-isolate for 10 days (and book a test) and the rest of the household must isolate for 14 days.
If someone else in the household develops symptoms during the 14 days they will need to book a test and self-isolate for a further 10 days from the start of the symptoms, until they feel well.
A supplier to the NHS has advised us of a global shortage of some equipment used for taking blood tests.
Anyone who needs a test for urgent health problems, will still get one but where your clinician recommends that it's safe to do so, then you may be asked to come back for a test at a later date, or your appointment may be rescheduled.
Given the nature of the shortage, we cannot give an exact date for when the test will be rescheduled, but please be assured that if your condition or symptoms require it, then you will get a test, and we will be re-booking your test when supplies become more easily available.
You should also be offered the flu vaccination if you are a healthcare or social care worker directly involved in patient care.
Complications such as bronchitis and pneumonia are more common in people with other diseases, especially if they are also elderly.
Almost all of the deaths related to flu are in people in these groups.
In long-stay residential homes, vaccination helps prevent the rapid spread of flu among residents.
The final decision about who should be offered the vaccination on the NHS is a matter for your GP, based on your medical history and circumstances.
Telling peopleCaring responsibilities can make it difficult to maintain friendships or develop new ones.
Telling your friends you're a carer is important so they understand and can support you.
Taking a breakCaring for someone can be a full-time job, but it's essential that you take time out for yourself too.
Read our guide to accessing breaks and respite.
Calls are free from UK landlines.
There is a local carers centre, where you will find a friendly face and a warm welcome Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm.
The girls may be taken to their countries of origin so that FGM can be carried out during the summer holidays, allowing them time to "heal" before they return to school.
There are also worries that some girls may have FGM performed in the UK.
This was part of a wider commitment to preventing FGM during the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation.
Read the 2015 Government declaration on female genital mutilation for details on other steps being taken.
The Statement Opposing FGM makes it clear that FGM is a serious criminal offence in the UK, with a maximum penalty of 14 years in prison for anyone found guilty of the offence.
