This is a Training Practice, and our GP Registrar sees and manages patients as part of gaining experience as a GP. A Registrar is a fully qualified Doctor with several. Mrs Hazel Kneale who is our Advanced Practitioner. This a new area of expertise which will bring a new dimension to our Practice Team and is a positive development.
The Practice Nurses have their own surgeries where they can help and advise with immunisations and travel health, family planning, cervical smears, blood pressure monitoring, asthma, diabetes, coronary heart disease, .A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years.
We have a Community Link Worker attached to the Practice. His role is to 'link' patients to services that may be of help in a practical way, ie financial issues, food. The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality.
