A supplier to the NHS has advised them of a global shortage of some equipment used for taking blood tests. NHS England have therefore issued guidance to GPs that all nonurgent blood tests should be halted. Anyone who needs a test for urgent health problems will still get one, but where your Clinician recommends that it's safe to do so, then you may be asked to come back for a test at a later date, or your appointment may be rescheduled.

Given the nature of the shortage, we cannot give an exact date for when the test will be rescheduled, but please be assured that if your condition or symptoms require it, then you will get a test, and we will be re-booking your test when supplies become more easily available. If your condition or symptoms change or get worse, please contact the NHS as you would normally.

Vaccines will be by APPOINTMENT ONLY as per Government guidelines. Please DO NOT call to enquire/book appointments, you will be contacted by the Surgery in due course. You can now book appointments, order your repeat prescriptions or view your medical record online.

If you have a medical emergency outside of normal surgery hours, then please ring the surgery number.
This service will initially offer telephone advice, and if unable to resolve the problem on the telephone, you will either be offered an appointment at a local Primary Care centre run by the service, or a visit will be arranged.
Please do not use this service for routine matters, as it may delay the service in dealing with urgent problems.

We provide a comprehensive range of extra patient care facilities in conjunction with Secondary Care.
This includes a number of different clinics as detailed below.
Some clinics will invite patients to attend, and others can be booked.
As the day and time of these clinics may periodically change, please check with reception for details.
The Musculoskeletal First Contract Practitioner (MSK FCP) Service offers patients direct access to in-practice treatment from qualified MSK Specialists.
These appointments provide an alternative to a GP appointment for a patient with an MSK problem which includes: acute or chronic musculoskeletal conditions affecting neck (including whiplash) and thoracic spine; shoulders; upper or lower limbs; back, pelvis, or joints; muscular pain and injuries - including sports injuries.
You can now use the new NHS App, a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services and your GP account on your smartphone or tablet.
At home or on the move, with the new NHS App you can conveniently order repeat prescriptions, view your GP medical records, manage appointments at your GP surgery, set organ donation preferences, and check symptoms.
The app has been developed by the NHS and has been designed to help people get more information about their health and care - and more control of how they use NHS services.
The practice has a friendly PPG which is now well-established.
The group usually meet on a Monday evening at 5.30pm on a bimonthly basis.
The group is open to both men and women of all ages and ethnic origin.
Currently the ages range from teenage to elderly, both male and female and are representative of our patient's ethnic mix.
Alongside this the practice also has a Virtual Patient Group (VPPG) which the practice communicates with via email.

The practice currently has 12,500 Patients and with the majority of our registered patients being White British, however due to the location of the practice we do have a diverse population.
We chose to set up a Virtual PPG as we felt we would be able to reach more patients that way, so we started a campaign to recruit members to the group.
The campaign started in the summer of 2011 with posters being placed around the surgery asking patients to join the group.
In addition to this we produced an "invite" form.
