Services
The NHS needs data about the patients it treats in order to plan and deliver its services and to ensure that care and treatment provided is safe and effective.
The General Practice Data for Planning and Research data collection will help the NHS to improve health and care services for everyone by collecting patient data that can be used to do this.
GP practices already share patient data for these purposes, but this new data collection will be more efficient and effective.
We have agreed to share the patient data we look after in our practice with NHS Digital who will securely store, analyse, publish and share this patient data to improve health and care services for everyone.
Our receptionists no longer make appointments without an econsultation being completed first.
ALL patient requests and enquiries are now screened via an easy to use electronic consultation form called e-consult available on the website.
All patients needing contact with the surgery are required to complete an e-consultation FIRST on the website.
Please complete an e-consultation rather than visiting us at the surgery or telephoning.
We deal with BOTH administrative and medical queries via e-consultations.
Some drivers are now bwing told by the DVLA to ask their GP if they are "fit to drive" so that they can continue to driver under Section 88 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 (RTA 1988).
The DVLA has produced a leaflet which explains RTA 1988.
GPs are not usually qualified, and may not be indemnified, to advise patients whether or not they are fit to drive.
In normal circumstances a practice may provide a factual report for the DVLA so that their expert medical afvisers will decide upon fitness.
If a GP were to provide an opinion that their patient was "fit to drive" and then an accident were to occur, the GP may be liable.
We know that many of life's problems can make us feel unwell.
Improving your lifestyle or taking control of a practical problem can be very challenging and people often feel daunted at the prospect of change and don't always know where to start.
Social prescribing link workers help give you the confidence, encouragement and support you need to make and sustain changes that will help you to feel better in yourself.
Our Social Prescribing Link Workers, Alastair Crammond & Emma Adams, are here to help and support you to look after your health and wellbeing.
Earlier this year, West Wirral Group Practice (WWGP) changed the way requests for appointments are handled.
What has changed?
When patients request an appointment the receptionist will ask for reasons for their request, so that they can direct them to the best person to assist them.
Staff have been fully trained by Healthwatch, with accreditation/endorsement from National Open College Network, to enable this change.
Why did it change?
The demand for services from WWGP is growing constantly as it is throughout the NHS, and this trend is not expected to reverse in the near future.
