We will not be giving appointments over the phone or face to face. This is to protect the patients and staff and reduce the risk of infection in a crowded waiting room. Due to the high increase in the number of telephone calls the doctors are receiving each day, and for the safety of both doctors and patients, we will now be reducing our telephone consultation service to calls between 08.30 and 11.00am each day.
If you call outside these times, and your call is not urgent, you will be asked to call back the following day. With this website we are aiming to help you find all the information you need at the click of a mouse. You can order repeat prescriptions online, cancel existing appointments, change the contact details we hold for you and much more. There is a wealth of information about medical conditions and diseases in our patient information leaflets as well as all the latest practice news and developments.
Please feel free to browse through the site and leave any comments in the 'Contact Us' page.

Services
Knock Medical Centre started in 1928 by Dr Fred Halliday, at 374 Beersbridge Road in East Belfast.
At that time, people were either "Panel Patients" (a consequence of the 1911 National Insurance Act which provided compulsory pre-paid Health and Medical insurance for employees below certain agreed low wages) or "Private Patients".
Many people in East Belfast were moving out to Dundonald, and a branch surgery to facilitate them opened at 497 Upper Newtownards Road - This was Dr Fred's home.
In the early 50's this branch surgery moved to 503 Upper Newtownards Road.

All consultations are by appointment and these are made by telephoning the surgery or by calling into the practice.
The receptionists will endeavour to give you a suitable appointment with the doctor of your choice and you may choose to see any doctor in the practice.
This practice endeavours to offer contact with a healthcare professional either by appointment or telephone within 48 working hours of initial request, although this will not always be with the doctor of your choice.
Please make a separate appointment for each person as delays are caused for everyone if two people are seen in one appointment.

All newly registered patients will be asked to complete a questionnaire and invited to attend for a "new patient" check up/assessment with the nurse practitioner initially.
This enables us to meet you and to assess your medical needs.
Please note that you can choose to attend any of the doctors in the partnership, although we would encourage you to consult one partner for chronic problems as this helps to ensure continuity of care.
Please ensure that the new patient questionnaire is fully completed, where possible, and given to the receptionist in good time, prior to your first appointment.
