Services
You will be contacted by a GP, who in consultation with you, will decide on the best treatment for you.
There will be expectations for people with Learning Difficulties, deaf, Language difficulties and anyone who does not have a telephone.
In a few cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor.
Practice Nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments.
If you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment, you will be asked to take a seat whilst the Receptionist speaks with the relevant clinician to see if you can still be seen.

Whilst the doctors at the surgery are willing to visit patients who are housebound, they would appreciate other patients making every effort to attend the surgery.
Should you require a doctor to visit you at home you should make your request, by contacting the surgery as soon as possible (0161 498 8484).
The doctor may telephone you first to assess your problem and this may not always lead to a visit - you still may be asked to attend the surgery.
If you have any queries, please speak to one of our reception staff who will be happy to advise you.

You do not require a doctor's sickness certificate for any illness lasting seven days or less.
If you are sick for more than seven days, your employer can ask you to give them some form of medical evidence to support payment of SSP (statutory sick pay).
It is up to your employer to decide whether you are incapable of work.
A medical certificate, now called a 'Statement of Fitness for Work' (see below) from your doctor is strong evidence that you are sick and would normally be accepted, unless there is evidence to prove otherwise.

Please give 48 hours' notice when requesting repeat prescriptions; they can be collected later after 2pm, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays.
Post the printout to the practice, with a stamped addressed envelope (please allow plenty of time due to possible delays with the post).
You will also need to call into reception for a code to complete the registration for security reasons (you will need to bring in ID for this purpose).
Items such as contraceptives, HRT and antidepressants are not usually available as a repeat and may therefore not appear on your list.
